ASTRO – 53

Collaborative robot (Cobot)

Why Astro-53?

The Astro-53 is the medium-sized collaborative cell of our product line. It allows bigger payloads in a small footprint of 5 feet by 3 feet. Compact and flexible, the Astro-53 is the perfect cobot cell for changing purposes. From small and lighter tasks like inspection
or machine-tending to heavier handling tasks, this Astro-53 can
work on a station one day and easily be moved to another the next day.

Like all of our collaborative cells, it can safely work close to human workers and is customizable to fit your needs. The Astro-53 is perfect for medium payloads, which fills in the gap between the small Astro-33 and the bigger Astro-66.

APPLICATIONS

icone machine tending

Machine-tending

The Astro-53 can assure machine-tending tasks that are normally executed by an operator. This cobot can also lift and position heavy components (up to 15kg), preventing the risk of worker injuries.

icone inspection

Inspection

A collaborative robotic cell like the Astro-53 is perfect to handle quality control while tending the part. This allows the elimination of an additional workstation and releases a human worker from the task.

dispensing icon

Dispensing

This collaborative robot can dispense many components such as sealants, adhesives, paints, or any other fluids. This regularizes the task, gives more consistency, and reduces imperfection risks.

Astro-53 Installation

Installation

The Astro Cell can be integrated into your production line with only 5 simple steps. Before the Astro-53 arrives at your factory, make sure its space has been prepared. The floor does not need to be perfectly leveled, as you will be able to adjust the cell by handling the pre-integrated ratchet handles on the wheels. The Astro cell needs an electric and a pneumatic connection. Make sure you have both of them set up. You can find more specifications about the Astro-53 installation procedure on the documentation shared on our website. Remember that DIY Robotics provides free support to help you at any moment if needed.
