More About Welding Assistant
Combined to our Astro-53, the Robotic Welding Assistant kit represents our vision of a real collaborative application for a cobot. Instead of working closely to human workers, the Robotic Welding Assistant works in symbiosis with the welder, therefore facilitating the process of welding on irregular metal parts.
The Welding Assistant is a useful third hand that maintains irregular pieces in place to help the welder. The 360° motion of the FANUC robot avoids having to turn over the part to weld all sides, and prioritizes an optimal horizontal weld configuration. The joystick allows manual control of the robot‘s position for more precision when needed. This Robotic kit is perfect for small volume productions and there are no programming skills required to operate the FANUC robot.

The Robotic Welding Assistant kit includes:

Single gripper EOAT
In addition to the single gripper that comes with the robotic kit, we also added three pairs of fingers to the bundle:
- 1 pair of fingers for round tubing
- 1 pair of fingers for square tubing
- 1 pair of blank fingers, ready to be machined according to your needs

Joystick to easily move the robot
The joystick gives more precision to position the piece or to change, the position initially taken by the robot, at will. The joystick can also be used to create teaching points offering more versatility to the user.

Installation
The Robotic Welding Assistant (RWA) can be integrated into your production line with only 5 simple steps. Before the RWA arrives at your factory, make sure its space has been prepared. The floor does not need to be perfectly leveled, as you will be able to adjust the cell by handling the pre-integrated ratchet handles on the wheels. The cell needs an electric and a pneumatic connection. Make sure you have both of them set up.
